1) Google Sends Manual Actions for Rich Snippet and Spammy Structured Markup
Why it matters? Google is taking a stance over spammy structured markups and rich snippets. Since last year, rich snippets have been a strong way to become noticed in an increasingly difficult area. Naturally, this has unearthed another whole level of dodgy tactics. Google has taken notice and penalties will be issued. Take note.

2) Authority is the New Links: Reading Between the Lines
Why it matters? When Matt Cutts stating two weeks ago that guest blogging is dead, he essentially said that if you are link building by guest posting thin content across the Internet, you need to stop. Although guest blogging as a purely link building tactic will not be tolerated by Google, Guest blogging as a way to establish authority and promote your community are acceptable.
Importance Level: 6/10
3) Google Incorporates Analytics Attribution Models into Google Adwords
Why it matters? A handy alternative to track sales and conversions from your website. Google explains each model further in their support. Most people will use the last click model, however, not all businesses are the same and what works for one, may not work for another; even within the same industry.
Importance Level: 6/10
4) Using Snapchat for Business
Why it matters? When people talk about snapchat, often the first throught is how could this possibly bring me more business? Snapchat is a deceptively creative and cheap way to market your business to a niche market. Although considered the young persons social media due to its young demographic, Snapchat is perfect for Sneak Peaks to build viral discussion or coupons for promotions.
Importance Level: 4/10
5) Google Puts Youtube First in Search
Why it matters? A change in the way that Google promotes Youtube videos. See for yourself. This will have two effects on your SEO. Firstly, it is a move away from keyword hijacking by putting a large video at the top of SERPs. Secondly, it will boost Youtube exposure allowing you to reach your audience better over your Youtube Channel. Finally, I can see this as a push to boost Google’s Youtube over its competitors such as Vimeo, Rap Genius, Pandora, Twitch TV and even Netflix. This has potential future opportunities for Google to promote more than just Music videos, but live content as well.
