Today we’re giving a huge shoutout to Lisa Ffrench. Lisa is one of our Paid Media specialists and she’s been doing a wonderful job with the Paid Media team on setting up and running digital marketing campaigns, primarily on the Google Ads platform.
We asked Lisa a few questions about her role, working remotely, and what it’s like working for In Marketing We Trust as a Paid Media Specialist.
It’s commonly known that the beginning is the hardest. What was the hardest thing for you to overcome when starting at In Marketing We Trust?
As I’d already been working remotely for a few years (prior to starting at In Marketing We Trust) I was already familiar with that particular way of working. So I was all set up in terms of desk/computer/workspace/general motivation. The hardest part was the same as starting at any new company: learning about our processes, platforms, and systems.
What motivated you to pursue a remote job?
We have 3 daughters, very close in age (not hard when two of them are twins!) so finding a remote role in Digital Marketing was perfect for our family.
It meant that I could maximise my work time between local kinder/school drop-offs and pickups, rather than spending time commuting to the city (Melbourne).
What are your best tips for working remotely?
Stay motivated each day by ticking off a list of important tasks, communicating regularly with your teammates, and taking regular screen breaks. Setting up a dedicated workspace is crucial for me – working from the couch just doesn’t feel right. It’s also important to find a form of exercise that you enjoy and keep to that schedule too!
What is the most challenging part of your role?
Learning about new products, processes, and platforms from a home office setup can be challenging at times but In Marketing We Trust is always available to help with any questions or issues I may have.
What is the most rewarding part of your role?
Feeling like I’m part of a hard-working, experienced team of Digital Marketing professionals + enjoying good communication with clients, and seeing their online campaigns succeed has got to be the most rewarding part of my role as a Paid Media Specialist.
Your best tips for someone looking to start out in the Paid Media world?
Find work at a reputable Digital Marketing agency, keep up your learning with regular training sessions and, of course, set up and run a variety of online marketing campaigns across various platforms (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, etc).
