Flyover-like Aerial Views to Google Maps
Google Maps has announced the addition of photorealistic aerial views, new cycling route information, and notifications for sharing user location.
The photorealistic aerial views give users an overhead look at landmarks in cities including Barcelona, London, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, and more.
Disabled Validation Fix in Search Console
To update all Search Console properties to the new item classification smoothly, Google Search Console has temporarily disabled the validate fix button on its coverage report section.
Google mentioned, “we are making some minor updates in the next few days. During this period, you will not be able to issue new validation requests“.
Campaign Manager 360 August Updates
Google Campaign Manager 360 has announced new updates and improvements with customised time zones for scheduled reports, deprecation of cookie reach reports and metrics, landing page improvements for HTML5 creatives, and more.
Expandable Menu in Google Business Profile
Google is testing a new expanded menu for the Google Business Profile tool in Web Search.
The new expanded menu allows users to click an arrow down to expand the options to edit their business profile directly in the desktop Google Search interface.
Google’s New ‘Google Tag’
Google has introduced a unified tagging platform, ‘Google tag’. The Google tag is a single tag that lets you send data from your website to linked Google product destinations to help you measure the effectiveness of your website and ads.
The global site tag (gtag.js) is now the Google tag. With this change, new and existing gtag.js installations will get new capabilities to help you do more, improve data quality, and adopt new features – all without additional code.
Asian-owned Attribute to Business Profiles
Google has announced a new profile attribute for Asian-owned businesses that will allow business owners to identify themselves as Asian-owned. The attribute will be visible to all users across Google Maps and Search.
Once a business adds the label to its Business Profile, users will be able to see the attribute on Search and Maps. In the coming weeks, ad-supported publishers will also be able to identify as Asian-owned in Display & Video 360’s Marketplace.
New Discovery Ads Features
Google has announced new features for Discovery ad users which aim to help advertisers get ahead of the holiday season with new assets, reporting, and targeting. The new features are modern ad experiences, robust creative guidance, and new audience insights.
Google said that “78% of feed users prefer to check Google feeds for the latest personalised updates relevant to their interests and daily life“.
July 2022 Product Reviews Update is Finished Rolling Out
Google has quietly confirmed that the July 2022 product reviews update is now finished rolling out. The update only took a couple of days to roll out, starting on July 27, 2022, and ending on August 2, 2022.
When it was first announced, Google said that the July 2022 product reviews update would “take 2-3 weeks to complete“. The update aims to promote review content that is above and beyond much of the standard information you see on the web.
